*This is a Journey Pack. It is a bag I made on my learning how to sew journey and therefore has errors, mistakes, fixes and is not polished. I am releasing some of my journey items to make room in my closet, but also to reinvest into my own learning. You can follow my journey on IG @packstuff_ideas.
I call this my 'failed grail' because while I made my dream backpack, sometimes you learn lessons on the way to the grail.
Materials:
210D Gridstop with Dyneema Exterior
Challenge sailcloth silverado ultragrid interior
Ykk#5 Shiny Aquaguard zippers
EVA Foam padding back, straps, and bottom
Features
- Roughly 20L capacity
- Padded Laptop sleeve
- PALs webbing interior
- Dual stretch bottle pockets
- Large quick access pocket
- Aluminum knurled pulls
- Luggage pass through strap (vertical)
- exposed threads, struggle with binding
Lessons I learned:
- EVA foam and open cell foam combo for straps makes the straps maybe toooo cushy for me
- Made the pack a bit bigger than i wanted for an EDC. I ended up making another iteration in the 16L range which is better for me.
- Binding was an absolute B on this bag because I didn't plan well on leaving space for my machine foot. If you are not looking, you won't see my pain and struggles.
If you don't like the pack, you can send it back for a refund within 14 days.
If you have a structural problem with the bag within 6 months, let me know and I will fix it for you.
Do not buy this bag if you strive for perfection, if you are nit picky about exposed seams.
Buy this bag if you want to support my growth as a maker!
